From the Editor
Welcome to the second issue of the Cardiff University Pagan Society's magazine! It's bigger and better and promises to be a good read. So, another few months have passed, as have Imbolc (Feb. 1st) and the Spring Equinox which was the most recent. (March 20th) Beltane and the exam period are fast approaching (including that delightful and inevitable feeling of impending doom!), and with them new vitality and lust for life. Imbolc was the start of new life and Spring, the Spring Equinox was a time for us to regain our balance: to make ourselves centred between the polarities of light and dark, male and female, extreme and extreme. This balance is important at this time of year, particularly for students, when our continued concentration, love of our studies, and perseverance is most needed. The essays are coming in thick and fast, revision is upon us, coursework deadlines looming... And the last thing we need is an unbalanced mind that flits from one extremity to the other like the weather (and anybody who has witnessed the last weekend's weather can attest to its volatility!) So the Spring Equinox and the following weeks is an excellent time to step back a while, take stock of your life, and work out where you are imbalanced. Then taking steps to remove the imbalances and forge on ahead with your projects and studies. Without this time of balance and the act of moderation, we very quickly burn ourselves out and miss our targets. With Beltane (May 1st) comes the passion of life, the joy, vitality, sexuality and fire in the belly and heart. The sun-tides flow in the blood of anybody who has followed them for a while, and you will find that at this time you are 'raring to go', eager to steam ahead, and your passion and joy in all aspects of your life will be renewed. It is as though you have finally shaken off the cold rigidity of Winter and have blossomed fully into Summer with energy and enthusiasm. And it is with such enthusiasm that I present to you this magazine, which is the collaborative effort of many wonderful people from all walks of life and all levels of experience. As always, please feel free to send your contributions in for inclusion in future issues: it's your magazine, so help make it the best it can be! As always, I shall leave you with a blessing drawn from the Tarot cards: 10 of Wands, Queen of Wands, 7 of Cups.
"May your projects and responsibilities not weigh you down too much, and may
your struggle be aided by your talents and friends.
Blessings,
