Cardiff University Pagan Society AGM Minutes

Thursday 3rd May 2007

Members Attending: Kim Huggens, Andy Holland, Daniel, Natalia, Steve James, Alex Mylles, Andrew Thomas, Pip Dore, Simon Lewis, Jonathan Underhill, Natalia Popova.

Apologies Received from Connie, who subsequently arrived later in the evening.

Agenda

1. Election of new officials, elections held by secret ballot the results being as follows:

President: Jonathan Underhill

Vice President: Connie Pretty

Secretary: Natalia Popova

Treasurer: Andrew Thomas

IT Officer: Andy Holland

Magazine Editor: Kim Huggens

NB. Establishment of Library Officers to maintain the Lending Library.

Congratulations to the new committee and we wish them all the luck running the society next year.

2. Discussion of society activities next year.

  • Fresher’s Fayre: Flyering, mead on the stall, sample other flyers of connected societies, trying to connect to other student societies in the union. Book power socket for the stall. Check status of badges, layout design and time table for the first month.
  • Mailing List and Internet Functions: continuing the existence of the magazine under the editorship of Kim Huggens. Issues with the forum need to be resolved (to be discussed further in committee). Theme, blurb, and committee pictures to be sorted. Linked to this, the establishment of a Lending Library for books to members – more details to follow.
  • Continued running of both Tarot Coffee Club and Witchcraft 101
  • The development of Pagan film nights, with continued links with the Chapter Art House (suggestion of a link with People and Planet?)
  • Ritual groups to be developed for each Sabbat – so as to get a variety of rituals, a suggestion of smaller rituals in a particular style or tradition through out the year.
  • Running of trips – Glastonbury, Bath, Temple of Nodens, West Wales, Cornwall.
  • Development and assistance of House Morgain: The Goddess Temple in Newport.

3. Motion Raised: Maintain Membership fee at £2.00 – Motion passed (one abstention)
