by Kim Huggens

Create circle by drawing it in the sand with stick.  (One person)

“The circle is cast and consecrated in the name of Summer.”

Invocation of the four elements.

East: Places feather on altar.

“With whispered callings and gentle breezes, we welcome Summer in.”

South: Throws a mixture of cinnamon and pepper on the fire.

“With desire and directed will, we welcome Summer in.”

West: Sprinkles water around altar.

“With tears of joy and depth of feeling, we welcome Summer in.”

North: Lays flowers before altar.

“With May flowers and the beauty of life, we welcome Summer in.”

Calling upon Goddess in Her aspect as Lover, Flower Lady, and Fertile Earth.

Calling upon God in His aspect as Lover, Virile Sun, and King Stag.

Alchemical Marriage. (see other link)

Sacrament.

To Dismiss:

North: Places hand on ground.

“By bud and flower, Summer is come!”

West: Places hand on heart.

“By lake and river, Summer is come!”

South: Places hands near fire.

“By desire and will, Summer is come!”

Air: Raises hands to sky.

“By breath and song, Summer is come!”

The circle is stamped out in the sand by everyone, dissipating it.

Lord and Lady lead everyone in jumping of the Bel fire, whilst others clap, sing, drum, whatever.  This is followed/accompanied by much feasting and drinking.  Maybe some toasts.  (And not the Christian sacrifice kind either!)
